We think of fresh air as being free, it’s something we take for granted. After all, the air is everywhere, there can be no taxes or toll fees on the air we breathe in our homes. The truth of the matter is that fresh, clean air is not everywhere. Pollution and allergens are everywhere. Dust, pollen, pet hair and smog from cars and industrial complexes all affect the air we breathe.

Top Air Purifiers – The Full Review
This review is going to be divided into 3 sections. To make your life easier, you can simply scroll to the heading that best describes your needs. These are:
Conditions like asthma, allergies to cats or dogs, and sinus conditions are all important reasons for using an air purification system. Then there’s the basic pleasure of living in a home with clean air. Odor, caused by pollution, wild fire smoke, pets, cigarette smoke, and even kitchen odors, will affect the air quality in the home. This may not always be a health issue, it can just be about our comfort. Mold is another airborne problem in many homes. Spores in the air caused by certain types of mold can be a severe health risk, not mention an unpleasant musty smell. The reasons for using a good air purifier in your home are plentiful, making this a very important decision.
Air Purifiers for Small Rooms
For a room area of up to approximately 150 square feet.
1. GermGuardian AC4300
This is a large air filtration system with a slim tower-like design, it stands on the floor at a height of 22-inches. Although bigger than most, the GermGuardian (AC4300) is a very elegant appliance and is available in either black or white. For some reason, the white version is more expensive.
The GermGuardian is a high-end product and this means it has absolutely everything you’d want from a home air purifier for a small room (up to 153 sq. ft.).
The HEPA Pet pure filter has an added anti-microbial agent. This inhibits the growth of mold, odor-causing bacteria, and mildew. With 99.97% particulate removal, allergens like pet dander, pollen, and dust mites are fully taken care of. The active charcoal filters remove odor caused by smoking, pets and cooking. You also have the option of a UV filter (with Titanium dioxide) for enhanced removal of bacteria, mold spores, and viruses.
The GermGuardian is highly efficient and the three speed Energy Star fan will have little effect on your electricity bill, whilst circulating the air four times every hour. A filter replacement indicator helps you stay on top of maintenance. You can expect to replace the B Pet filter every 6 – 8 months.
The GermGuardian AC43000 is certainly not one of the cheapest air filtration systems around. No one can expect it to be, it’s one of the very best. This is both in terms of build quality and outstanding performance. With a 3-year warranty, you can be sure that you’re buying one of
most dependable home air purifiers.
2. LEVOIT LV-H132
The most striking aspect to the Levoit LV-H132 air purifier is its very compact size and sublimely elegant design. The tabletop cylindrical unit measures only 8.5” X 14.5” X 8.5”. This small unit can be deceptive in its capabilities. The manufacturers claim that it is capable of filtering the air in a room as large as 50 meters squared – that’s a whopping 538 sq. ft.
Although I think that they may be a little optimistic in this evaluation, as this is way more than any of the larger (more expensive) air purifiers. It has a 3-speed fan, which is whisper quiet and won’t disturb your sleep. The three stage HEPA filtration system is fairly basic, but highly effective at removing allergens (pet dander, pollen, mold spores and the like).
It also has a carbon filter for odor removal, like smoke and pet odors. It does not, however, have a UV filter to remove bacteria from the air, like some of the more expensive air purifiers do. Their advertising script cleverly states this as being an added benefit, as this makes it ozone-free. I’m not entirely convinced by this statement. Modern UV lights are usually ozone free. It has the option of an LED night light.
You’ll be blown away by the compact size and elegant design of this great little air purifier. It may not be of the same standard as the high-end products. Then again, it is much cheaper and this makes it excellent value for money. The 2-year warranty is quite impressive, you seldom get more than 1-year for similar products in this price range.
3. Pure Enrichment PureZone
This air purifier has won me over on every level. It has everything one could want from a high-end product and, in this regard, is not that expensive. The PureZone is just about as compact as it gets (10.8” X 7” X 12.5”) and looks magnificent. Above all, it is one of the best in terms of performance and is rated for rooms up to 200 sq. ft.
Don’t be fooled by the small, minimalist design, the PureZone has the full house when it comes to perfect air filtration. The 3-in-1 filters offer the best HEPA filtration for removing pet hair, pollen, dust and everything else one would expect from HEPA membrane filters.
In addition to this, a carbon filter removes odors. So it’s perfect for homes with pets or cigarette smoke. The PureZone also has a very effective UV filter, ensuring that your home is free of bacteria, viruses, and mold spores.
The three speed fan is one of the quietest that you can get. At low speed, you won’t notice any sound (30dB). Even at high speed, the noise level of 50dB, won’t interfere with a conversation. The fan will circulate up to 80 cfm, making it highly effective for fairly large areas. It also has a timer function, you can set the PureZone to run for 2, 4, or 8 hours and switch off automatically. A reset indicator informs you when it’s time
to change the filters.
Pure Enrichment is a California based company which prides itself in providing top rated products of the highest quality standard. To this end, they offer an incredibly impressive 5-year warranty on the PureZone home air purifier and customer support 7-days a week. That does a lot to put my mind at ease.
4. Mooka Air Purifier
Call me cynical, but a tiny air purifier that’s this cheap couldn’t possibly be an effective solution for anything except really small rooms. That’s what I thought until checked out the Amazon reviews and the excellent 4.7-star rating. This is the average out of 249 customer reviews.
I checked up on a customer claim that the company no longer exists and this turns out to be wholly untrue. In fact, they appear to keep their promise of responding to any customer request within 24-hours. If a portable air purifier for an average-sized bedroom is what you’re after, this is most probably your best option. It measures only 7.5” X 6.9” X 6.9” and weighs a mere 2.95 LBS.
Apart from the absence of a UV light for extra anti-bacterial air filtration, the nifty little Mooka has what it takes to compete with the big boys. Full HEPA filtration is to be expected, and that it has. Along with this, the Mooka also has a carbon filter to get rid of any nasty odors caused by pets, smokers, or cooking.
It’s simple to use, with a single touch control to switch the machine on and control the fan speed. Easy to follow LED indicators let you know what’s going on. It has a night light built-in and is super quiet. It’s also easy on your electricity bill, consuming a fraction of the power that larger air purifiers do.
Considering that you’re very likely to find this little gem for under fifty bucks, you may have some concerns about quality. There is absolutely no need to. They offer a 3-year warranty and excellent customer care. Every bit of evidence suggests that this is an excellent product at an unbelievably fantastic price.
5. Hamilton Beach 04384
This is a really small and perfectly practical air purifier at an irresistible price. More than just saving on your purchase price, you’ll be saving for ever more as the HEPA filter never needs replacing. You can clean it with a regular vacuum cleaner. It’s only the carbon filters that need replacing approximately every 6-months.
Suitable for rooms up 140 sq. ft., this may not be the most powerful air purifier in the review. Instead, it’s small and portable, exceptionally quiet and very economical. The permanent HEPA filter takes care of allergens, like pet hair and pollen, while the two carbon filters do an excellent job at removing unwanted odors.
As far as the best budget air purifier goes, this one could be the winner. Not having to replace the HEPA filters is going to save you quite a bit over the years. Limited only by its size, this model is better suited for smaller rooms. Though in every other aspect, the Hamilton Beach
(04384) is a true champion.
6. Homemaxs Air Purifier
The Homemaxs air purifier is super powerful, capable of circulating the air in larger rooms (up to 220 Sq. Ft.) four times per hour. It is a little bulky though, measuring 9.4” X 9.4” X 16”. But the cool cylindrical design makes it appear quite elegant. This design also allows for 360-degree air circulation.
It has the same 3-stage HEPA air filtration capabilities as any of the best air purifiers in this review. So it is excellent at removing pet dander, pollen, and other allergens from the air in your home. It’s also great at removing odors.
The functions are logical and easy to use. The 4-speed fan is really great if you want a silent air purifier for when you’re asleep. At the lowest speed (silent mode), it’s barely audible, at 25dB. When you crank it up to full, the air blasts like few others and this also makes it a little noisier than some (60dB). It has a night light and child lock. A handy timer function allows you to set the Homemaxs to switch off automatically after 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours.
The Homemaxs is quite a remarkable air purifier, especially for larger areas. They offer a money back guarantee and an 18-month warranty on this product.
Air Purifiers for Large Rooms
For larger rooms upto 1000 square feet in size.
7. Winix 5500-2
More than capable of providing clean, odorless air in rooms up to 360 square feet, the Winix 5500-2 has a lot going for it. It has a very utilitarian look. The design is functional and, perhaps not the most modern. I wouldn’t call this fairly large (15” 8.2” X 23.6”) machine ugly. Though, in my opinion, it lacks the refined elegance of some others.
That being said, the Winix 5500-2 does what it’s intended for with great efficiency. As we would expect, high-grade HEPA filters ensure that the air in your home is free of allergens. Hair, pet dander, pollen, and dust will be a thing of the past.
The carbon filters, that control odor, are washable. So you can reuse these filters instead of replacing them as often as you would others. The inclusion of a plasma filter is quite unique and this is very effective at removing chemicals from pollution and other harmful elements from the air in your home. Unlike some other ant-bacterial filtration systems, the plasma filter is guaranteed to be ozone-free.
The four speed fan is great, as it allows you a whisper quiet mode, increasing up to an immensely powerful turbo mode for rapid air purification and circulation. The automatic sleep function is quite remarkable. The Winix 5500-2 has sensors to detect how much light is in the room. So when you turn out the lights to go to sleep, your air purifier will engage an ultra-quiet sleep mode. Of course, you have the option not to use this. The sleep mode, as well as an automatic mode, are controlled by a simple user interface. In automatic mode, the Winix will adjust the fan according to the level of allergens and other impurities in the air. It’s an intelligent, user friendly air purifier. The Winix 5500-2 also has a full function remote control, something that the 5300 does not.
This is a wonderful product and the quality appears to be of the highest standard. This certainly is a top rated air purifier, having received accolades and rave reviews worth taking note of.
8. LEVOIT LV-PUR131
In terms of affordability, the Levoit LV-PUR131 is a real winner. Although cheap, no one can call it nasty. This is a great air purifier, capable of holding its own alongside the more expensive rivals. It has a neat, modern appearance and excellent functions.
Even though this isn’t a particularly large appliance, measuring 14.5” X 7.2” X 18.5”, it can circulate and purify the air in a room up to 322 sq. ft. The three stage HEPA filtration system is as good as any you’ll find, providing allergen-free, odorless, perfectly healthy air in your home.
Smart electronics detect the level of pollutants in the air and provide you with this information by means of LED display icons. Intuitive, easy to use controls and a super quiet sleep mode are amongst the benefits. Economy is the name of the game with this air purifier. Not only are the filters cheaper than most but the energy star rating means it uses very little electricity.
The Levoit LV-PUR131 is cheap to buy and just as economical to run and maintain. I’d say this is a perfect win-win for anyone who’s conscious of their budget.
9. LEVOIT LV-H133
Being more expensive than the Levoit LV-PUR131, one would expect more from the LV-H133 and you’d be correct in thinking this. It shares the same cylindrical design as the smaller LV-H132 and has the same advantages. Not only is the Levoit LV-LH133 more much more compact than the LV-PUR131, it outperforms the cheaper model by a long shot. It is designed for 360-degree air circulation and this gives it the ability to purify the air in rooms exceeding 500 sq. ft. That’s quite remarkable for such a sleek, very elegant machine. It measures 26.2” X 15.7” X 15.7”, taking up much less space than air purifiers that can’t match the same capabilities.
Three stage HEPA filtration is what I’d expect and this means no pollen, pet dander, or nasty odors in the room. The 3-speed fan allows for an incredibly quiet sleep mode. The automatic function will adjust the performance to match the surrounding air conditions, giving you the best air purification for the current situation. It also has a timer function.
This is one of the best air purifiers in the Levoit product range. It’s superbly elegant and perfectly practical. I would definitely rate this as a high-end product. With that said, it is not too expensive, given the immense capabilities and excellent design.
10. AIRMEGA AP-2015F 400
The Airmega AP-2015F 400 Smart air purifier is another one of the more expensive options. This price probably has much to do with size and capabilities of this machine. Of the products in this review, you won’t find any that can handle rooms as large as this one can. For air circulation of 4 times per hour (the accepted standard for the best air purification), this model is able to purify the air in a room as large as 780 sq. ft. The manufacturers claim it can handle a room of up to 1,560 sq. ft. But this will mean an air purification rate of only 2 times per hour, which is acceptable, but not the best.
Because this air purifier is designed for large areas, its physical size is also bigger than most others in its class. The Airmega AP-2015 dimensions are: 14.8 X 14.8 X 22.8 inches. This size isn’t all that bulky when you take into account the size of room it can handle. One would also expect the fan to be louder than most, since it is so powerful. Yet, the opposite is true. At the lowest fan speed (silent mode), it won’t be noticeable at only 22dB. Even at full power, high circulation, it is quieter than many smaller air purifiers (55dB).
Air purification is of the highest standard, you need not worry about allergens, pollution, or odors. All this is taken care of, using top grade HEPA and carbon filters. It also has a 4-level pollution indicator as well as an LED that informs you when to change the filter. The timer and schedule program gives a versatile range of automated timing functions. A smart function can be activated with the touch of a button. This allows the Airmega to calculate the required air filtration and adjust the circulation according to the surrounding environment.
For a really large area, you can’t beat this air purifier. It’s highly efficient and deceptively quiet. The design may be a little bulky, with a distinctly utilitarian look, but I wouldn’t say it’s an eyesore by any means.
11. VEVA 8000 Elite Pro Series
Wonderfully affordable and superbly elegant, the Veva 8000 Elite Pro is a remarkable air purification solution for large areas up to 325 sq. ft. Both the price and size of this appliance defy its capabilities. If economy, without compromise, is your priority, the Veva 8000 Elite Pro will make your day. Not only is it cheap to buy, but the replacement filters (4 X carbon pre-filters and 1 X HEPA filter) are amongst the cheapest you can get.
As one of the cheapest air purifiers for large rooms, the Veva is surprisingly effective. A series of carbon pre-filters clear the air of pesky odors and prolong the life of the very efficient HEPA filter that ensures the air remains free of allergens.
It is beautifully compact (9” X 8” X 23”) and is certainly easy on the eye. The 3-speed fan is really quiet and circulates the air perfectly over a large area. It’s easy to use, with no fancy features, like automatic settings. This is a small sacrifice for such a cheap, yet highly competent, air purifier. You’re saving on the extras, not where it counts. So the overall quality is great. This is a well-made machine and does the job of purifying the air in your home and office as well as machines that costing two or three times the price of this little gem.
Easy on your budget and perfect for your health. What a bargain. Least of all, the inexpensive Veva 8000 Elite Pro air purifier comes with a 2-year warranty. This is excellent for such a cheap appliance.
12. Honeywell True HEPA
Certainly one of the high-end products when compared to most other air purifiers for large rooms. The Honeywell True HEPA (HPA 300) air purifier not only handles a large area (465 Sq. Ft.), it is able to circulate the air in the room up to 5 times per hour. This way exceeds most others. So even in a larger room, it should perform better than most.
Particulate removal meets or exceeds the standards set for the average HEPA home air filtration system. Odors, VOC’s, allergens, pollen, smoke, you name it. Few air purifiers can take care of these as effectively as this one can.
The pre-filters are excellent at maintaining a long life for the HEPA filters. So, while these cheaper filters may need to be replaced approximately every three months, the more expensive HEPA filter should keep you in good standing for about a year. The average replacement time for HEPA filters is usually around 6-months.
It’s a big machine, measuring 20” X 10.8” X 22.3”. Then again, it has big capabilities. It has easy to use controls with no complicated features. You don’t have timers and other automated features. Instead, it offers a range of practical air filtration settings – allergen; general clean or germ, and a turbo mode for rapid air circulation.
The Honeywell True HEPA air purifier range is not about fancy gimmicks. Instead, they’ve concentrated their efforts on providing the cleanest air with some of the best statistics for removing bacteria, smoke and other odors, as well allergens from the air. If you need a home air purifier specifically because you experience respiratory problems, this may the best air purifier. It is possibly as close as you can get to a medical grade air purifier in a standard home air filtration system.
13. Alen BreatheSmart FLEX
A real beauty with a small footprint, the Alen BreatheSmart Flex air purifier certainly has a lot to offer. The minimalist, chic design is definitely very elegant. You can enhance the great aesthetics with a range of 14 different panels in a variety of colors and patterns to match your decorating style.
Beyond the good looks, the Alen is as competent as any of the best air purifiers. The filters are HEPA rated and are really good at removing, dust, pollen, pet dander and any other allergens you may think of.
Despite being quite small, 8.5” X 15” X 25”, the Alen packs quite a punch. It will circulate the air in a 700 square foot room every half hour. It will do so quietly and efficiently, with an energy star rating.
This air purifier comes in several variations, with differing levels of filtration. The Pure variant utilizes a great HEPA filtrations system which is perfect for dust and allergens, but does little to combat odors or bacteria and mold. For the most effective control of bacteria and mold, along with HEPA anti-allergen filtration, the Silver Alen is the best. For kitchen odors, smoke, chemicals, and VOC’s (including HEPA filtration), Fresh is the best. Finally, the Odorcell is the best option for homes with pets and babies, specifically targeting pet and diaper odors, with the obvious inclusion of HEPA filtration for allergens.
Very effective, efficient, and delightfully elegant, the Alen BreatheSmart Flex air purifier is great for large rooms. You have the reassurance of the utmost in quality, backed by a lifetime warranty.
14. Whirlpool WPPRO2000M Whispure
A high-quality product from brand that we’ve all come to trust. The Whirlpool Whispure comes in a variety of attractive and modern finishes that should look great in any home. It’s also very effective for large rooms. For basic, anti-allergen HEPA filtration, the Whispure is rated for rooms up to 1,320 sq. ft. Though it’s most effective in rooms around 328 sq. ft. (CDR rating). In a room of 500 sq. ft., the whirlpool will circulate the air 5 times per hour. This is way better than many that are rated for rooms larger than this.
It’s a big, powerful air purifier, but won’t tear into your electricity bills. The Energy Star rating means that it is one of the most efficient that you’ll find. It’s also incredibly quiet, with the benefit of a virtually silent sleep mode - ideal for bedrooms. The HEPA and carbon filters are excellent at removing everything from pollen, dust and other allergens, to smoke, pet and other odors, as well air pollutants. Yes, this is the full package.
This is not a particularly small appliance, measuring 19.45” X 10” X 25”. But the elegant design is not intrusive, so it fits well into the environment of your home. The advanced technology is easy to understand. It has a timer and automatic functions, all available at the touch of a button, and indicators to guide you. It also has a night light.
There can be no argument regarding Whirlpool quality and reliability, it’s a top rated brand in the home and commercial appliance industry. Along with this stellar reputation for customer satisfaction, you have the additional reassurance of a great 5-year warranty.
15. Bissell air400
For well over a century, people have relied on Bissell appliances to make our lives easier. This, on its own, is a compelling reason to consider the Bissell air400 air purifier as one of the best in its class. For large rooms, up to 400 sq. ft., you can be assured of perfectly clean, pure air, no matter what the environment.
The 3-stage air filtration system is sublime. The usual HEPA and pre-filter meets the highest standards. Allergens, like pollen, pet dander, dust, and pollution, are no match for the Bissell. The 1” carbon filter goes beyond expectations. Removing pet odors, wild fire or cigarette smoke, and kitchen odors, is what this air purifier excels at.
A numeric display, shows the level of contaminants and pollutants in the air. The Bissell will automatically adjust to these conditions. Furthermore, it is super-efficient and, like so many of the best air purifiers, this one also has an Energy Star rating. Even at full power, the Bissell air400 only consumes 75 watts of electricity. All this, while perfectly purifying the air for a pretty large area. This air purifier is beautifully quiet, and won’t disturb you while you sleep.
The name Bissell kind of speaks for itself. This is a brand that instills confidence and customer reviews reflect this. A wonderful, high-quality product any way you look at it.
Air Purifiers for Pets
Pets in the home bring a lot of joy and happiness. But this is not without its issues. Pet odors and conditions like cat allergies or dog allergies, along with pesky critters and bacteria are all reasons why you may want to consider an air purifier that is designed to provide the best results for a home with pets. Generally, these air purifiers will have more filtration stages. This makes them better equipped to deal with the allergens, odors, and bacteria associated with pets.
16. Winix WAC9500
The Winix WAC9500 certainly has the wow factor, both in its looks and exceptional capabilities. For a hygienic and odorless home, regardless of how many pets you have, it will be tough to beat this magnificent air purifier. The HEPA filtration exceeds what one would normally expect from a home air purifier.
The Winix Ultimate Pet air purifier utilizes an incredible 5-stage air filtration system. Pre-filters capture hair and larger debris, which is followed by carbon filters that remove any pet odors or smoke, HEPA filtration do most of the air sanitizing and allergen removal. Then there’s a plasma filter that ensures that the air is free of bacteria, viruses and mold spores.
The controls are fantastic and a large LCD display gives you easy access to all the relevant information at a glance. You can easily check up on the air quality in your home and will be notified when the filters need replacing. A single touch control allows perfect control over automatic or manual functions. If you want the Winix to adjust to changing environmental conditions, simply set it to auto-mode and sensors will detect contaminants in the air. The smart technology will provide the exact level of filtration required.
Beautiful to look at, incredibly simple to use and, above all, highly effective at cleaning the air, this is the perfect air purifier for a home with pets. It is rated for small to average sized rooms, around 280 sq. ft.
17. Rabbit Air MinusA2
If style and sophistication is important, the Rabbit Air Minus A2 should really appeal to you. They’ve taken a novel approach to elegant design for an air purifier. A flat, wall mounted (or stand-alone) panel with a massive choice of artwork prints, including some of the world’s great artists. The front panel, which is what you see, no longer looks like an appliance. It’s, quite literally, a work of art. More than just a fashion statement, this an air purifier of note. There are several filtration options, one of which includes a specialized pet option.
Three stage HEPA air purifiers are pretty much the standard amongst the top brands. Four, even five, stages are quite impressive. How about 6 stage air filtration? That’s right the Rabbit Air Minus A2 has a ground-breaking 6 stage air filtration system.
Two pre filters systematically reduce the particle size, preventing the 0.3 micron HEPA (third stage) from becoming clogged. This does a lot to extend the HEPA filter life. This no ordinary HEPA filter, they’ve used a unique BioGS HEPA filter. Rabbit claim that is filtration system is better for the control allergens and mold spores.
The fourth stage of the air filtration system is great, as you have several options for your individual needs. Specifically formulated for homes with pets, there’s the choice of using the Pet Odor stage 4 filter. Other options include Germ Defense, Toxin Absorber, or Odor Remover filters. Odors are further taken care of with stage 5 carbon filters.
Finally, stage 6 utilizes a Negative Ion Generator. I’m not too sure what this does, but they say it fortifies the air that you breathe. I know that negative ion water filters remove unwanted minerals and I guess this would mean that airborne chemicals should be removed by this type of filtration system.
Maybe all the science under the skin of this beautiful air purifier is a little too complicated for us, ordinary folk to understand. One thing’s for sure though, it is definitely one of the very best air purifiers for homes with pets. It’s incredibly beautiful and the easy to use controls are perfectly disguised, though easily accessed, on a flat touch panel at the front. The Rabbit is rated for rooms up to 700 sq. ft. Though for maximum effect, circulating the air 4 times per hour, it will work best in rooms up to 350 sq. ft.
There can be no doubt that this is a high-end product. From the way it looks, to the incredible technology and impeccable air filtration system, it’s hard to beat. Added to all this, a 5-year warranty and 24/7 customer support, are amongst the best in the industry.
18. Airthereal Pure Morning APH260
It’s nice to see such a competent air purifier for pets, at such a reasonable price. Don’t be fooled into thinking that the cheap price suggests that you’re getting second best. A fantastic 7 stage air filtration system says a lot and it is rated for fairly large rooms – up to 355 sq. ft.
Not all UV anti-bacterial and mold filters are approved by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). This is for the fear of ozone issues. This one is. Not only does it have a highly effective UV filter, to clear away bacteria, mold spores and other pesky critters, it has another 6 high efficiency air filtration stages.
HEPA filters are a given for any of the best air purifiers for pets. Then it has whole bunch of fancy, high-tech filters – Nano Mineral, cold catalyst filter, a molecular filter, and photo catalyst filter. The Aitherial APH260 air purifier uses spectacular technology for odor control. This is not only ideal for pets, but the 0.1 micron odor particle removal is just about the best for smoke too.
The Airthereal has the full plethora of easy to use electronic functions, like a 12-hour timer, silent sleep mode, auto mode, or you can manually adjust the 3-speed fan. It has a clean modern look, with a white façade. In every aspect, a great appliance.
It’s hard to believe that such a technically advanced product can be this cheap. So is it any good in terms of quality? Countless rave reviews, and an A grade on fakespot for honesty, is a clear indication that these guys are for real. A 2-year warranty, accompanied by great customer support is nothing to scoff at either. In my opinion, this is probably the best value for money pet air purifier that you’ll ever find.
19. AeraMax 300
For large areas, where pets live, the AeraMax 300 air purifier is the preferred option for many, rated for rooms 300 – 600 sq. ft. If you’re using it in a room of around 300 Sq. Ft., it has unbeatable HEPA air purification – particulate removal of 99.995%. That’s just about at the top of the HEPA filtration spectrum.
Along with 3-stage HEPA and carbon filters to clear away allergens, pet dander and odors, the AeraMax 300 also utilizes a plasma filter to control pollutants in the air. Certified as being asthma and allergen friendly (ASP-08-01 standard), the anti-microbial filters are almost as good as medical grade air filtration systems.
A 4-speed fan ranges from a whisper quiet mode up to a really powerful, yet energy efficient, air circulation system. This is an Energy Star Air purifier. Easy to use functions include an automated Area Smart function that detects impurities in the air and adjusts the AeraMax accordingly.
This machine is not only one of the best for pet odor and dander, it is not at all expensive. For flu and conditions like, asthma, the high-efficiency HEPA filtration is perfect. The 3-year warranty is an assurance that you’re getting a great standard of quality.
20. Coway AP-1512HH Mighty
With a number of awards to boast about, the Coway AP-1512HH is as competent as it is beautiful to look at. Excellent HEPA air purification for a home with pets, this air purifier is great for an area up to 361 Sq. Ft.
The 4-stage air filtration system includes the expected HEPA filter, along with a pre-filter and carbon filter for odor removal. Along with this, it has a bipolar ionizer to remove pollutants and increase its odor removal capabilities.
Auto detection, provides real-time information on the air quality in your room. Apart from a low 77W Energy Star rating, it has an additional economy mode that will automatically reduce the energy consumption when it detects clean air for half an hour.
Three fan speeds range from a really quiet (24.4 dB) low speed, up to high speed that isn’t, by any standards noisy (53.8 dB). Touch controls are easy to follow and include an automatic mode, as well as a timer – 1, 4, or 8 hours.
This beautiful gem can stand proudly amongst any of the top rated air purifiers for pets. It’s economical with intuitive functions. Rated highly by industry professionals and consumers alike, the Coway AP-1512HH is an all-round winner and you get a 1-year warranty on the motor and internal parts, 3-years on the electronic components.
21. SilverOnyx

The international standard for air quality is measured by the percentage of particles removed from the air and the size of these particles. You’ve probably heard of the term HEPA air filters, though you may not fully understand this. Knowing about the filters is the best way to make sure you’re getting the best air filtration in your home.
HEPA stands for high-efficiency particulate air. It may also be referred to as high-efficiency particulate absorber. In order to meet the minimum standards for HEPA air filtration, the filters need to remove 99.97% of the particles from the air, down to a size of 0.3 microns. This is known as H13 filtration. For home air filters, this is generally accepted to be the best.
However air filtration standards go much further than this (H14, U15, U16, and U17). The highest standard (U17) requires air filtration of 99.9999% particle removal. These filters are for serious industrial, medical, and laboratory applications. They are seldom in domestic situations. In most cases, home air filters are only rated as being HEPA and we can assume that this will be the H13 standard of 99.97%, unless otherwise indicated.
HEPA filters make use of a pre-filter which removes larger particles from the air and prevents the finer, HEPA filters from becoming clogged. HEPA filters usually consist of a fiberglass mesh that captures particles as small as 0.3 microns. Air purifiers for the home also make use of other filters, like UV lights to kill bacteria, or carbon filters that eliminate odors.
