We all know the importance of drinking water. Though, many people don’t enjoy the taste of water, or lack thereof. In some areas, the water supplied to our homes can be quite unpalatable. If you want to add some excitement to your drinking water or simply want to make it taste a little better, I’ve got some great tips on how to improve the taste of water.
We’ve read the articles about the importance of water to our health. Hydration is essential to healthy living. Water also helps flush toxins which keeps our skin looking great. We get a good amount of water from eating fresh fruit and vegetables, but it will never be enough. In order to receive the correct hydration, It is recommended that we drink 8 – 12 glasses of water every day.
There can be no doubt that drinking water is essential to good health. Most people don’t drink enough the stuff. As more people embark on a healthier lifestyle, the importance of drinking water is getting a lot more attention. People are starting to drink more water.
That’s okay if you enjoy the taste of water. What if you don’t? Resorting to sugary sodas is not the answer. The can be no substitute to pure healthy water. It’s just a matter of getting it to taste the way we want it to, without compromising on the good health that natural water provides.
I have some really healthy tips on how to make water taste better. This should make it possible for everyone to enjoy the goodness of pure natural water, no matter what your taste preferences are.
Zesty Lemon
One of my favorite drinks is water with a squeeze of lemon juice. It tastes great and is incredibly healthy. Lemon is fantastic for detox and is a very rich source of vitamin C. It is also an antioxidant, making it one of the best preventions for cancer.
Add about a teaspoon of lemon juice or a slice of lemon to a glass water to make it taste good and enjoy a lot of additional health benefits.

Fruity Delight
Adding pieces fruit to a pitcher of water and allowing the flavors to infuse is another great, healthy way to make water taste better.
You can use just about any fruit that catches your fancy. Kiwi fruit is an exotic favorite for many. You can tie mixed berries or slices of orange. The options are as wide as your imagination and, best of all, it’s wonderfully healthy.
Tropical Delight
Pineapple has an amazing flavor when soaked in water for a couple of hours. It turns bland old water into a wonderfully exotic drinking, reminiscent of white beaches on a tropical island.

Just Chill
Making flavored ice cubes, using crushed fruit or natural flavor additives, is super easy. It can add a bit of excitement to glass water, turning the ordinary into something extraordinary.
You can keep a variety of different flavored ice in the freezer to use at any time. It’s an easy fun way to enhance the taste of your drinking water, whilst remaining perfectly healthy.
A Touch of Tea
There are many healthy teas available, in a range of flavors. Try adding green, fruit, or herbal tea to your water. Cooled and refreshing iced tea is wonderful on a hot summer’s day. You can experiment with all sorts of exotic teas to add some excitement.
You should ensure that do not use tea with caffeine, as this is a dehydrant. Drinking caffeinated beverages defeats the purpose of drinking water, eliminating the health benefits of regular hydration.
Add Some Sparkle
Soda water is just as healthy as still water, just with a bit of extra sparkle. It has a refreshing good taste. You can buy bottled mineral sparkling water or use a home soda machine.
Go Green
Cucumber is another popular additive to make water taste better. It has a subtle, organic flavor and is incredibly healthy.
Use Pure Water
We’ve looked at some great ideas to make water taste better. While they are very effective at improving the taste of your water, it isn’t much use if the water you’re using contains contaminants that affect the taste or good health of the water you’re drinking.
Many municipal water utilities add chlorine to the water. This kills bacteria and prevents diseases like cholera. Unfortunately, chlorine has a very unpleasant taste and can be harmful to your health if consumed in large quantities.
Fluoride is another popular additive that is supposed to make our teeth healthier. In reality, we get enough fluoride from dental hygiene products like toothpaste. If you end up consuming too much fluoride, it can be bad for your health.
Some minerals that occur naturally in water can taste bad. Heavy concentrations of minerals is quite common in many areas. This water is often discolored and doesn’t look very appetizing. It may also taste unpleasant and could be unhealthy.
You can never be too sure what is in the water that is supplied to your home. Even old, damaged pipes can be problematic.
No matter what you add to your water to improve the taste, it is very important to start off with pure healthy water, without contaminants that affect the taste or your good health. All the flavorful tricks that you might use cannot be substitute for pure healthy water to begin with.

If you actually enjoy the taste of natural water and just want to get rid of nasty additives like chlorine, or other contaminants that my affect the taste of your water, you may prefer bottled water. Pure water is wonderfully refreshing, has a great natural taste, and is really healthy.
Instead of spending money on bottled water, you could invest in a home water filtration system. It will save you a small fortune in long run. Having purified water available in your home has many other benefits, it’s better for plants and pets. You can also use healthier, better tasting water for cooking. Some water filtration systems improve the quality of the water for cleaning.
The options for quality water filters are almost endless. The benefits are also plentiful, not just for your health.
A water filter pitcher is inexpensive and easy to use. They are portable, so you can take them with you everywhere you go. A water filter pitcher can have any number of filtration media. Even the most basic of these will remove contaminants like chlorine, leaving your water crystal clear and tasting great.
More sophisticated water filtration systems are also available, and these will usually cost more. Countertop water filtration systems can include many stages of filtration that not only improve the taste of your water, but remove impurities, hard metals, even adjust the PH to make healthy alkaline water.
The ultimate in home water filtration has to be reverse osmosis (RO). These systems can have up to 10 stages of filtration or more. While RO water filtration systems tend to be quite expensive to install, the filters last much longer than others. For a larger volume of pure water, RO water filters are the most convenient and be more cost effective when considering the cost of filter replacement over the years.

Since you can’t always be sure what is in your drinking water, bottled or filtered water is almost a necessity. You can be sure that you are drinking safe, healthy water and it tastes good.
